When a diamond dealer is found murdered in a car at a remote crossroads outside Paris, Inspector Maigret is called to investigate the strange collection of characters living there. Set against the foggy countryside, this taut psychological thriller showcases Simenon's gift for creating tension and unveiling the darker aspects of human nature.

Les Copains du Mardi is a book club for advanced/fluent speakers of French. Organized by one of our longtime members, Cindy Marrs, Les Copains usually meets offsite at a member’s house and has space for around eight individuals.
