Germaine de Staël was a French writer and intellectual who played a significant role in shaping European culture during the early 19th century. Olympe de Gouges was a feminist activist and writer who fought for the rights of women and slaves during the French Revolution. Madeleine Sophie Barat was a French nun who founded the Society of the Sacred Heart, a religious order dedicated to the education of girls.
