New Wednesday Casse-Croûte: French Rap

Did you know that understanding familiar and colloquial language is a key component of mastering a C1 level in French? Starting Wednesday, January 29, 2025, and running through April, the Alliance Française de St. Louis invites you to our newest Casse-Croûte class: French rap!

Join us every Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM as we dive into modern idioms, argot (slang), and even gros mots (colorful expressions) through some of the most popular music currently making waves in France. This dynamic and engaging theme will not only enhance your language skills but also offer you a fresh perspective on French culture.

Meet Your Instructor

Molly, who started out as a volunteer at the Alliance Française de St. Louis several years ago, returns to us from France where she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Language Didactics. When not working on her master’s, she attended rap concerts, sought out the bars and clubs that would play her favorite rap artists, and discussed music with young French people.

What Are Casse-Croûte Classes?

Our Casse-Croûte classes are perfect for anyone looking for a flexible, affordable, and engaging way to practice French. These are no-commitment, pay-as-you-go classes that are just $60 for four 1.5-hour classes (or $30 for four classes if you’re already enrolled in a standard class).

Casse-Croûte classes are held Monday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, both in-person and via Zoom (except for Tuesdays, which are in-person only). Each day of the week features a unique theme, and there is need to worry about falling behind—the topics are fresh every week, so you can jump in anytime!
