2023 Photo & Haiku Contest

It’s time to start dusting off your old photo albums and enter to win during our 2023 Photo & Haiku Contest!

Winners will have their photo and/or Haiku printed in our official 2024 calendar.

Photo contest winners will also receive a free calendar!

The Rules Are Simple

To enter the Photo Contest, submit up to three photos of your travels in France and other Francophone countries. To enter the Haiku Contest, submit up to three Haikus in French on any topic. The deadline to enter is July 31.

12 photos and 12 Haikus will be selected by our panel of judges, and winners will have their submission(s) featured in the official 2024 calendar of the Alliance Française de St. Louis. Additionally, the winners of the Photo Contest will each receive a free calendar.

The Photo Contest requires a small donation ($5 for members, $10 for non-members) to enter. The Haiku Contest is free to enter.

Photo Contest 📸

To enter the Photo Contest, please send up to three (3) French/Francophone-themed photos to marketing@alliancestl.org with the subject “Photo Contest.” Please include your full name, the date and location of the photo(s), and any additional information.

Additionally, we ask that you please submit a small donation of $5 (members) or $10 (non-members) to enter the Photo Contest. This helps us cover the costs of the calendars that the winners will receive.

Please note: the photos must have been taken by you, and you must retain all of the rights to them. Please submit only high-resolution photos. Low-res photos will not be considered.

A Few Submissions from Years Past

Haiku Contest ✍️

Submit up to three (3) original Haikus using the form below or by emailing them to marketing@alliancestl.org with the subject “Haiku Contest.” The Haiku Contest is free to enter.

Your Haikus can be on any topic, but they must be in French and follow the standard 5-7-5 format (three lines with 5 syllables, 7 syllables, and 5 syllables).

Also, while we recognize that AI chatbots like ChatGPT can produce some oddly cool Haikus, we would much prefer to read what YOU come up with, so please, leave AI out of this!
