Artist Spotlight: Glandean Clark

The next time you stop by the Alliance Française de St. Louis, be sure to take a look at the beautiful abstract art pieces that adorns our walls for a limited time. This is the work of Glandean Clark, a St. Louis-based artist and freelance interior designer. We met Glandean recently when she was passing by our Alliance Française. She stopped by to chat and happened to have some of her artwork on her, and we immediately fell in love with it and asked if we could display her art in our building.

Meet the Artist

Glandean Clark is a 1979 graduate of Maryville University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts having majored in Interior Design. A freelance interior designer, she designs and creates window treatments for her clients. In 1980, Clark participated in two designer showcase events to raise money for Cardinal Glennon Childrens’ Hospital in 1980 and was profiled in a 1984 article in the St. Louis Post Dispatch. One of her past clients includes Mr. Robert Peck, Public Buildings Commissioner for the US General Services Agency, for whom she designed conference room interiors between 1996 and 2000.

In the future, Ms. Clark has set her sights on a Master of Visual Arts degree at Washington University. She plans to travel to art galleries around the world to show her work and to compete in contests highlighting abstract artists.
